- Over 58% of peace officers already meet PTSD/PTSI criteria according to national statistics; however, my statistics show that 94% of peace officers are suffering from PTSD/PTSI.
- Peace officers are over 3 times more likely to commit suicide than firefighters and are 10 times more likely to commit suicide than the general population. These rates are the highest to date and have experienced a recent, sharp increase.

- 75% of peace officers either leave or lose their careers a few years after a critical incident.
- Even if first responders are not suicidal, they still have PTSD/PTSI and depression at levels 5 times that of civilians.
- The divorce rate for first responders is about 80%, which is over 30% higher than the civilian population.
My question is, “Why is this happening when PTSD/PTSI is treatable?”
